What we treat here
Our Skin Clinic treats acne and folliculitis, back and chest acne, keratosis pilaris, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema and atopic dermatitis, rosacea and facial flushing, hair loss and seborrheic scalp dermatitis, and scars. Along with the visible skin symptoms, we look at your overall condition — such as heat, circulation, digestion and sleep — which can influence those symptoms.
Even with the same diagnosis, causes and progress differ from person to person, and long-standing symptoms may need care over several sessions. See below for an explanation of each condition and its treatment process.
Acne & Folliculitis
Acne is an inflammatory skin condition caused by excess sebum production and the buildup of dead skin cells and sebum within the pores.
Back & Chest Acne
Like facial acne, acne on the back and chest tends to develop where sebaceous glands are well developed, and is medically classified as truncal acne.
Keratosis Pilaris
Keratosis pilaris is a chronic, non-inflammatory skin condition in which hyperkeratosis blocks the openings of the hair follicles.
Seborrheic Dermatitis
Persistent redness and scaling (flakes, dandruff) appear on sebum-rich areas such as the scalp, face, behind the ears, and chest.
Eczema & Atopic Dermatitis
Atopic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease caused by an overactive immune response, characterized by intense itching and dry skin.
Rosacea & Facial Flushing
Facial flushing is a condition in which the capillaries in the skin overreact, causing the face to turn red repeatedly.
Hair Loss & Seborrheic Scalp Dermatitis
Hair loss is a condition in which hair falls out excessively or fails to regrow because of reduced follicle function and an imbalanced hair growth cycle.
Scars & New-Skin Regeneration Needling
Acne scars are classified by shape into ice pick, boxcar, and rolling scars — each differing in depth and form, and therefore in how they are treated.
