Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
Dongan (Facial Rejuvenation) Acupuncture · Jeong-an Acupuncture
A Korean medicine facial lifting procedure that applies acupuncture stimulation to key facial acupoints, the SMAS layer, and the facial muscles — with intensity and placement adjusted to each area's tension — aiming to improve circulation, support collagen production, and restore skin elasticity.
A structure-based approach that looks at the tension balance of the muscles and fascia, aiming to lift sagging areas and restore facial balance (results and how long they last vary).

Why you may need Dongan acupuncture at Myeongdong RI&
We tailor the treatment to a wide range of facial concerns: swelling, sagging, asymmetry, and dull complexion.

Facial swelling
Dongan acupuncture aims to improve lymph flow and blood circulation, helping to reduce swelling and refine the facial line.
Loss of elasticity
Acupuncture stimulation is intended to promote collagen and elastin production and help restore elasticity in both the SMAS layer and the facial muscles.
Nasolabial folds & drooping mouth corners
Through lifting stimulation below the cheekbones and adjustment of the muscles around the mouth, it aims to soften the nasolabial folds and mouth line naturally.
Double chin
By stimulating the fascia layer of the lower face and improving circulation, it aims to define the jawline and facial contour more clearly.
Facial asymmetry
It relaxes over-tense muscles that cause asymmetry and encourages slack muscles to contract, aiming to restore left–right balance.
Dull complexion
By improving blood circulation and lymph flow, it may help brighten the complexion and restore skin vitality.
Jaw-joint tension & masseter hypertrophy
By relieving tension in the muscles around the jaw, it may help ease facial fatigue and refine the contour naturally.

Dongan Acupuncture Q&A
What does Dongan acupuncture do?
By stimulating the face's acupoints and muscle layers, it helps improve circulation, reduce swelling, restore elasticity, brighten the complexion, refine the jawline, and relieve muscle tension. Rather than artificial changes in volume, the aim is for your natural facial line to become gently more defined.
Do the effects appear right away?
Some people feel their face becomes lighter or their complexion looks clearer relatively quickly after the procedure. However, changes in elasticity, nasolabial folds, and the jawline often appear gradually as the responses in the skin and muscles accumulate.
How many sessions, and how often, should I have?
If swelling or muscle tension is your main concern, some people notice a change even after a single session. If your goal is to improve loss of elasticity, nasolabial folds, or asymmetry, we recommend at least 5 sessions at weekly intervals. Once repeated treatment builds up muscle memory, the lifted state can be maintained for longer.
Can bruising or swelling occur?
In most cases there is no bruising, but depending on your skin condition and the treatment area, localized bruising or swelling may occur. If bruising does occur, it naturally subsides within 1–2 weeks, and we provide a bruise-relief cream. If you have an important event coming up, it's best to schedule the procedure with some lead time.
Can it be combined with other lifting or Botox procedures?
If you have had or are planning another procedure, please tell us its type and date at your consultation. After checking the treated area and your skin condition, we decide whether and when Dongan acupuncture can be combined.
